So this is a little announcement (last minute, though). I’m going to chatting about my Euro-adventure tonight at the Mountain Club in Cape Town. Swing through!
“The Nose in a day, Spanish Limestone and French Ice
Date: Tuesday 03 July 2018
Time: 19:30 – 21:30
In 60 years the climbing world has reduced the time taken to climb The Nose of El Capitan from 47 days to under 2 hours. Sam Nightingale tells us about his recent trip to Yosemite and the techniques involved to climb The Nose in a day. Kai and his girlfriend started with the drenched frozen limestone walls of Siurana and Margalef. From Spain, joined the Ecrins Ice Festival in the French Alps. The festival is an extravaganza of ice-climbing, skiing, and mountaineering all wrapped up in a big party with local musicians, delicious food and gluhwein brewed on raging bonfires in the snow. Finally to Chulilla: 50m lines dripping with tufas! Join us, and spread the word. Refreshments served.”
